About Mercy Sarah Foundation

Mercy Sarah Foundation (MESAF) is a community-rooted, non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of vulnerable populations through inclusive development, humanitarian response, and sustainable recovery. Founded on compassion, accountability, and impact, MESAF delivers people-centered solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in hard-to-reach and underserved communities.
Mercy Sarah Foundation (MESAF) is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees that provides strategic oversight, ensures accountability, and upholds the organizations mission and values. The Board is responsible for policy direction, fiduciary oversight, and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. MESAF operates in accordance with established governance documents, including its Constitution, Strategic Plan, and approved organizational policies, procedures, and internal controls. These guiding documents ensure transparency, effective management, sound financial stewardship, and adherence to best practices in humanitarian and development programming.
The day-to-day operations of Mercy Sarah Foundation (MESAF) are managed by a dedicated Management Team led by the Executive Director. The Management Team is responsible for strategic implementation, programme coordination, financial management, staff supervision, and partnership engagement, in line with the organizations mission and approved strategic plans. The management operates within the framework set by the Board of Directors  and is guided by MESAFs Constitution, Strategic Plan, and Operational Policies and Procedures. Clear role separation between governance and management ensures effective decision-making, accountability, and operational efficiency. The Management Team works closely with staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality, community-centered humanitarian and development interventions.
The Field and Community-Level Workforce forms the backbone of Mercy Sarah Foundation’s grassroots operations. This cadre includes community volunteers, mobilizers, facilitators, and focal persons who work directly within target communities to support programme implementation. They play a critical role in community engagement, beneficiary identification, service delivery support, awareness creation, and feedback collection. Operating with a strong understanding of local contexts, this workforce ensures that MESAF’s interventions are inclusive, culturally appropriate, and responsive to the needs of women, children, and other vulnerable groups, while upholding safeguarding and humanitarian principles.
